Who we are
Hi there, I’m sure you’re wondering who we are and why we are doing what we are doing. To make a long story short, some of us are expats from the US, some of us have been born and raised in Mexico and a couple of us travel back and forth between the US and Mexico. After the events of November 5, 2024 friends and family started asking how to make the move to Mexico and social media platforms were and are being flooded with similar requests, searching for the same knowledge. So, as expats with several years under our belts, we wanted to help in every way possible. That is why we’ve launched our new endeavor called “Intro to Mexico” to help make your transition to your new life in Mexico as smooth as possible.
So if you or someone you know are considering relocating to Mexico, but not sure where to start, we’ve got you. One thing we can guarantee is after the 14 days you will have the experience and information necessary to start a new life in Mexico if you so choose.
You can contact us with any questions or head straight to registering for an upcoming event. We’ll see you soon!

SAN CRISTÓBAL DE LAS CASAS
Discover the captivating charm of San Cristóbal de las Casas, which is one of Mexico’s Pueblo Mágicos and located at 7,000 feet in the highlands of Chiapas, Mexico. The town offers a rich blend of ancient indigenous culture and colonial history. With its vibrant Spanish colonial architecture, colorful buildings, and cobblestone streets, San Cristóbal invites you to step into a world full of beauty and history. What sets this town apart is its deep-rooted connection of the indigenous communities of the Tzotzil and Tzeltal Maya people. As you explore the traditional markets, you’ll find exquisite textiles, hand-beaded and amber jewelry, hand-embroidered clothing, and authentic handicrafts that celebrate the region's ancient cultural heritage. Experience local flavors and cuisine, which includes some of the best coffee and chocolate in the world— all experiences that perfectly capture the essence of Chiapas. Surrounded by mountains and forests where on certain days the clouds can be seen breaking over the mountain range: the diverse ecosystem, moderate temperatures, flora and fauna, and ancient Mexican culture, make San Cristóbal de las Casas, a city where you can put down roots and discover the freedom to build a new life.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
My experience of living in Mexico was eye opening to say the least. The culture was much different than the way I grew up. It was an adjustment. The way living in Mexico helped me grow as a person, was an experience I needed in my life. I was able to relax and learn to construct a different way of approaching life and the people in my life. I didn’t realize the difference until I visited the States again and how much the time spent living in Mexico was needed.

My last visit to Mexico was my first visit with my daughter, and I've never felt more safe on a trip than visiting San Cristobal. No matter what happens here in the US, I know that San Cristobal is a place in the world where I feel safe and welcomed as a mother. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to experience Mexican culture, and give my children that experience, too. And it's amazing how much more calm and relaxed I am in the US after having seen a different way of living.

When you first get to San Cris you are immediately breath-taken by the beautiful landscape. Photos do not do San Cris any justice. It’s a must see in person. Then you are greeted with a culture brimming with substance, a true focus on family, and a respect for diversity. You are able to relax and step outside of your norm. With this type of slow down from the American hustle and bustle of the constant “go, go, go” I was able to see something different. I saw that I could live being productive and successful without sacrificing what’s natural to the human experience - family. There is a level of practicality and respect within Mexican culture that I found refreshing as an American. A “Karen” wouldn’t get very far here. I’ve seen strangers help tapped-out moms with their tantrum children, instead of just giving a side eye. I’ve seen how business and family work hand-in-hand. Where children are allowed to be seen and heard. This is a stark difference from the US from my experience and it was truly eye opening. I highly recommend visiting San Cris for yourself to gain your own perspective - regardless if you decide to just visit or decide to make the move to experience what the culture of San Cris has to offer. I know I’m excited to visit San Cris again and the lovely people at Intro to Mexico who made our stay so wonderful.
